Waiting for the Lifan 820 sedan to enter the Russian market, the Lifan Cebrium sedan (known as the 720 in its homeland), which entered the Russian market in the first half of 2014, has been entrusted to lead the model line of the best-selling Chinese automaker in Russia. In general, it is time to get to know the "interim flagship" more closely.

The appearance of "Sebrium" does not cause wild delight, there are also nicer cars on the market. However, the Chinese apparently did not plan to create a "style icon" in his person, leaving this task to the future flagship Lifan 820, and the hero of today's review preferred to leave the role of a "solid middling" - a kind of intermediate link between "golf" and "business" classes. And yet, it is worth recognizing that some "representative features" in the body contours of the Lifan Cebrium three-box are present, creating a completely attractive image that can please Russian motorists.

In terms of overall dimensions, the Lifan Sebrium is an ordinary representative of the "European D-class": the body length is 4700 mm, the width fits into the frame of 1765 mm, and the height is 1490 mm. The length of the wheelbase is 2700 mm. Clearance (quite "universal") - 170 mm. The curb weight does not exceed 1265 kg.

The Salon of the Cebrium sedan has a classic five-seat layout and a higher quality finish than all Lifan models presented in Russia before. The interior is quite ergonomic, practically devoid of straight contours in design, while the main emphasis is placed on the successful combination of smooth lines and unusual geometry of finishing elements with a predominance of light shades of color. The front panel also looks soundly, the appearance of which is noticeably transformed depending on the configuration due to the installation of various multimedia systems. The only thing that can upset you is the obsessive smell of "plastic" (which pleases - not "phenolic" anymore), which will take a long time to weather.

As for free space, this sedan is very roomy and, of course, it is much more spacious than in the "solo" Lifan Solano in our market now.

The Sebrium has a pretty good trunk, which can accommodate about 620 liters of cargo.

Specifications. The Chinese manufacturer will not offer the choice of motors for the "720th Lifan", limiting itself to only one gasoline power unit, which was previously lit up on the "X60" crossover. It is a 4-cylinder in-line naturally aspirated engine with a displacement of 1.8 liters (1794 cm³), equipped with a 16-valve timing and multipoint fuel injection. The maximum engine power does not exceed 133 hp. or 98 kW at 6000 rpm, and the peak torque falls at around 168 Nm, which are kept in the range from 4200 to 4800 rpm.

The engine will be aggregated only with a 5-speed "mechanics", "automatic" (for some unknown reason) the Chinese will not offer this mid-size sedan to Russian buyers even as an option.

As for the dynamics, the "first hundred" on the speedometer Lifan Cebrium will be able to gain no faster than 13.5 seconds, and the upper speed threshold is declared by the manufacturer at 180 km / h.

The average level of fuel consumption, all according to the same manufacturer's data, should not exceed 7.9 liters in mixed driving mode, while on the highway the sedan should be limited to 6.5 liters of gasoline (it is worth noting that the car is certified for AI-92).

Lifan Cebrium is built on the improved Solano sedan platform. The tricycle drive is only front-wheel drive - there are no surprises here. But the suspension has been revised almost completely, retaining only the layout concept from the "donor": in the front there is an independent structure based on MacPherson struts and a transverse stabilizer, and in the back there is a semi-independent torsion beam with coil springs. The use of new suspension components, as well as a noticeable revision of the settings, brought the Lifan Sebrium chassis to a higher level (than that of the "donor"), so that the comfort and smoothness of the "big brother" is noticeably higher.
The developers equipped the wheels of the front axle with reinforced ventilated disc brakes, and on the rear wheels they limited themselves to standard disc brakes (as in the Solano). Already in the base, the novelty will receive assistance systems in the face of ABS, EBD and BAS. The steering mechanism is classic here - rack and pinion, supplemented by a hydraulic booster.

In terms of safety, Sebrium should show itself much better than the Lifan models already available on our market. The developers very carefully approached the question of the body structure: using much more high-strength steels, expanding the number of programmable deformation zones, improving the safety steering column and equipping the cabin with six airbags.

Options and prices. In Russia, Lifan Cebrium is offered to customers in two configuration options: "Comfort" and "Luxury". Both equipment options are of a fairly high level (ie "basic-empty" configuration is not expected), therefore it makes no sense to list in detail all its elements mp3 audio systems with USB (6 speakers), front airbags ...).
The cost of Sebrium on the Russian market in 2016 for the Comfort configuration will be ~ 615 thousand rubles, and the “Luxury” option is offered at a price of ~ 655 thousand rubles.
