Tesla Model 3 is a mid-size, all-electric premium sedan and, concurrently, the first car of the Californian company "Tesla, Inc", focused on the "mass market" ... Its target audience is wealthy people (and, regardless of gender and age), who want a stylish, dynamic and modern vehicle, but at the same time pay special attention to environmental issues ...

At a special event in California, which took place on March 31, 2016, the American electric car manufacturer Tesla Motors put on display to the public a prototype of its "younger" model called Model 3 ... Almost a year and a half after the world debut, the car finally became serial - its official presentation , accompanied by the announcement of final specifications and prices, was organized at the company's own plant located in Fremont, California.

Externally, the Tesla Model 3 is a slightly "shrunken" copy of the Model S, but in reality it is a sedan, not a hatchback. The electric car looks beautiful and sporty fit, and the formidable front end, completely devoid of a radiator grill, with LED headlights adds to its originality.

In profile, the "American" demonstrates dynamic and harmonious proportions, and does not disappoint with the design of the rear with beautiful lanterns and a powerful bumper.

This is a mid-size sedan with the following dimensions: it is 4694 mm long, 1849 mm wide (including side mirrors - 1933 mm), and does not exceed 1443 mm in height. The electric vehicle has a wheelbase of 2875 mm, and its ground clearance is 140 mm.

When equipped, the four-door weighs from 1609 to 1730 kg, depending on the modification.

In the Tesla Model 3 cabin, absolute minimalism reigns - it lacks the usual devices and any analog keys, and all functions (“driver's” data, navigation, climate control and everything else) are in charge of the 15.4-inch screen of the infotainment complex. installed in the center of the front panel.

You cannot find buttons on the three-spoke "oval" steering wheel - there are only two thumbsticks on it, designed to use the basic parameters of the media system.

Only high-quality finishing materials are used inside the electric car, and everything is assembled to the conscience.

The interior of the Tesla Model 3 is designed in such a way as to provide the maximum amount of free space for five adults and to provide a comfortable fit for all riders, without exception.

The front seats are equipped with ergonomic chairs with developed lateral support rollers, filling with optimal rigidity and sufficient adjustment ranges. Rear passengers are provided with a comfortable sofa with a well-thought-out profile and a folding armrest in the center.

For the transportation of luggage, the electric car has two cargo compartments at once - in front and behind. Their total volume is 435 liters according to the American EPA method.

Specifications: For the Tesla Model 3, several rear-wheel drive modifications are announced to choose from (all-wheel drive versions will appear in the future):

  • The standard sedan is powered by a 235 horsepower electric motor and a 60 kWh lithium-ion battery. Such a car goes to conquer the second "hundred" after 5.6 seconds, accelerates to a maximum of 209 km / h, and on a single charge is able to overcome at least 354 km. From a regular outlet, the batteries are replenished by 48 km in an hour, and from the Supercharger terminal in half an hour - by 209 km.
  • The electric car with the Long Range package can boast of batteries of an increased volume - 85 kW (although this information is still preliminary). This four-door car accelerates from standstill to 97 km / h after 5.1 seconds, maximum gains 225 km / h, and with fully "filled tanks" can cover a distance of 499 km. "Saturation" of batteries from the household network is carried out at a speed of 59 km per hour, and from the Supercharger station - 274 km in half an hour.

Like the older Esca, this car is constructed around a flat storage made of aluminum, to which a body and subframes made of steel and winged metal are attached.

The chassis of the Tesla Model 3 is completely independent: a double-wishbone architecture is installed in the front, and a "multi-link" at the rear. For a surcharge, the electric car will be offered air suspension.

"In a circle" the electric sedan is equipped with ventilated discs, a braking system, and its steering complex includes a rack and pinion mechanism and an electric power steering with variable characteristics.

Options and prices: Tesla Model 3 is not officially sold on the Russian market, but is imported to us by "gray" dealers.

In 2018, an electric car with a standard battery in our country will have to pay at least 3,800,000 rubles, and its functionality combines: eight airbags, 18-inch wheel rims, dual-zone climate control, full LED optics, cloth trim, cruise control with an emergency braking function, a multimedia system with a 15.4-inch display, equipment for the autopilot, power windows for all doors, ABS, ESP and the "darkness" of other "gadgets".

The "top" variant with the Long Range package, which implies the presence of batteries of increased volume, is offered at a price of 5,500,000 rubles.

In addition, the widest list of additional options is announced for the sedan.
