First Time Into a New Class - At the North American International Auto Show in Detroit (January 2015), British premium brand Jaguar held the world premiere of its first-born crossover and SUV under the F-Pace name ... in September of the same year "Cementing the effect" at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

By the way, the serial version of this car is not much different from the concept "C-X17" (presented back in 2013) and arouses interest not only by its daring appearance coupled with a luxurious interior, but also by modern technology and high-tech equipment ...

This "premium sport SUV" entered its main markets in April 2016, and became available on the Russian market in the second half of June 2016.

From whatever angle you look - Jaguar F-Pace fascinates with its beauty, expressiveness and dynamism, and its outlines visually resemble the F-Type coupe.

The front of the crossover is a pronounced aggression of a predator preparing for a throw, emphasized by an evil gaze of optics, an expressive radiator grill and a powerful bumper with large air intakes.

The teardrop-shaped silhouette of the body with a sloping roofline, heavily piled up pillars and "inflated" wheel arches add sporty elegance to the outlines of the car, and the monumental stern with narrow shades of lamps and two "pipes" of the exhaust system in the bumper harmoniously completes the aggressive image set by other "parts of the body" ...

Now about the specific numbers: the length of the Jaguar F-Pace is 4731 mm, of which the wheelbase is 2874 mm, the height is 1652 mm (without antenna), and the width is 1936 mm. The car rests on the roadway with huge wheels with disks ranging from 18 to 22 inches, and its ground clearance is 213 mm.

Despite the fashionable "clothes", the crossover does not save on the off-road: the angles of entry and exit, respectively, reach 25.5 and 26 degrees; and the depth of the forced water barrier is 525 mm.

In the F-Pace cabin, high luxury is combined with daring sporty style, fashion trends and expensive materials. The "family" multifunctional steering wheel, digital "instrument panel" with a 12.3-inch "scoreboard" (although the basic versions have analog dials with a 5-inch TFT display), a beautiful and presentable front panel - every detail of the decoration emphasizes the premium status of the crossover. The center console is crowned with a color “TV” of 8 or 10.2 inches (depending on the configuration), and a scattering of buttons in the lower part controls the settings of the zone climate system.

By default, the car is equipped with seats with a comfortable profile, developed side bolsters and electric adjustments; for a surcharge, sports seats with more tenacious outlines are available. The rear sofa with an electrically adjustable backrest can comfortably accommodate three adult passengers (the stock of knee space is 945 mm), however, the protruding transmission tunnel will interfere with the person sitting in the center.

The Jaguar F-Pace has a well-shaped luggage compartment of 508 liters with a reduced-sized spare wheel under the raised floor. The second row of seats folds down in a 40:20:40 configuration, creating a wide opening for bulky luggage and 1,598 liters of usable capacity. On the floor of the "hold" there is a practical rug with a washable rubber covering on one side.

In the Russian market, the F-Pace Jaguar is offered with two diesel and two gasoline engines, combined with an 8-speed "automatic" and four-wheel drive (in other markets, versions with "mechanics" and one driving axle - rear are also available).

The all-wheel drive transmission of the crossover implies the presence of a multi-disc hydraulic clutch and a chain drive in the drive of the front wheels - under normal conditions, all traction goes back, but if necessary, up to 50% of the moment can be thrown forward.

  • The power palette of the car is opened by an aluminum turbodiesel "four" of the Ingenium family with a volume of 2.0 liters, generating 180 "mares" at 4000 rpm and 430 Nm of available thrust, developed in the range from 1750 to 2500 rpm.
    It accelerates the SUV from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.7 seconds and allows it to reach a maximum speed of 250 km / h. The declared fuel consumption in the combined mode is 5.3 liters per “hundred”.
  • More powerful "heavy fuel" unit - 3.0-liter V6 with parallel-sequential turbocharging technology and direct injection, the return of which is 300 "horses" at 4000 rpm and 700 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm.
    With such a "heart" F-Pace conquers the first "hundred" in 6.2 seconds and gains 250 km / h, on average, consuming 6 liters of diesel fuel for every 100 km.
  • The powerful V-shaped "six" of 3.0 liters with a mechanical supercharger and direct fuel supply, available in two degrees of "boost", stands for the gasoline "team":
    • the initial version produces 340 "horses" at 6500 rpm and 450 Nm of torque at 4500 rpm,
    • and the "top" one - 380 horsepower and 450 Nm at the same speed.

    In the first case, the starting spurt to 100 km / h is provided in 5.8 seconds, in the second - 0.3 seconds faster. The maximum capacity is limited to 250 km / h, and the fuel "appetite" does not exceed 8.9 liters in the combined cycle.

At the heart of the Jaguar F-Pace is the iQ [Al] modular architecture - the proportion of aluminum components in the body structure reaches 80%, due to which the curb weight of the crossover, depending on the version, varies from 1665 to 1861 kg (this is noticeably less than that of the "classmates").

Suspensions on the car are independent - front double wishbone front and rear multi-link with intermediate lever (Integral Link). Adaptive Dynamics electronically controlled dampers are available as an option.

The "Briton" uses a rack and pinion steering mechanism with an electric power amplifier, variable tooth pitch and particularly rigid attachments of the subframe to the body. For deceleration, ventilated disc brakes are responsible at the front and disc at the rear, working in coordination with modern electronic assistants (ABS, ESP, BAS, etc.).

In the Russian market, the Jaguar F-Pace in 2018 is offered in five equipment options - "Pure", "Prestige", "Portfolio", "R-Sport" and "S".

  • A car in basic configuration with a 180-horsepower diesel engine costs at least 3,294,000 rubles, with a 250-horsepower gasoline engine. - 3,429,000 rubles, and with a 350-strong "six" - 3,692,000 rubles. The list of its equipment includes: six airbags, bi-xenon headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, a multimedia installation with an 8-inch screen, a premium audio system with six speakers, ABS, ESP, dual-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors, heating front seats, cruise control, light and rain sensors and more.

  • "Top" modification "S" with a V6 diesel engine costs from 4,599,000 rubles, and with a 380-horsepower unit - from 4,772,000 rubles. It boasts: 20-inch light-alloy "rollers", full LED optics, electric front seats and trunk lid, leather interior trim, adaptive suspension, keyless entry and engine start, rear view camera, more advanced "music" and other modern "chips ".
