In Moscow (within the framework of MIAS-2014 at the end of August) the Russian premiere of the sedan "Sentra" took place, which replaced the outdated three-box "Tiida" in the Nissan lineup on the Russian market.

According to the manufacturer, the new product will be able to create fierce competition with the main opponents in the segment (Ford Focus, Toyota Corolla), offering customers a more comfortable and spacious interior, a reliable chassis design, a durable engine and a roomy trunk. What will come of this - will show the "sales statistics", but for now let's get to know the newcomer better.

Externally, the Sentra is a rather dynamic car with an eye-catching design dominated by elegant lines combined with stylish décor elements. Sentra sedan, of course, does not claim the title of "beauty standard" even within its segment, but one cannot say about a serious lag from competitors either.

But in terms of dimensions, it is a clear leader, looking almost like a "business class" against the background of opponents: body length - 4625 mm, wheelbase length - 2700 mm, width - 1760 mm and height - 1495 mm. The ground clearance (clearance) of the Russian version of the sedan is 155 mm. The curb weight varies from 1216 to 1267 kg.

Salon "Sentra" is designed for 5 seats and boasts an impressive amount of free space both in the front row and in the back, and even passengers with a height of 180 cm can sit in the back with sufficient comfort. The interior is decorated quite simply, but ergonomically and efficiently. Among the "weaknesses" are poor lateral support of the front seats and a short range of steering column adjustments.

But all this is offset by another significant advantage of this machine - a roomy trunk, ready to swallow up to 511 liters of cargo and offering a wide opening and low loading height.

Specifications. There is no choice of engines for the sedan "Sentra": under the hood is located a fairly simple in design, but reliable and durable atmospheric engine of the HR line. It has 4 in-line cylinders with a total displacement of 1.6 liters (1598 cc), a 16-valve timing belt and a multipoint fuel injection system. The maximum power of the Sentra's uncontested engine is 117 hp, developed at 6000 rpm. The peak torque of the motor, in turn, is reached at 4000 rpm and is equal to 158 Nm.

The power plant can be aggregated both with a "basic" 5-speed manual transmission, and with a stepless "variator" CVT (available in more expensive versions of the car).

The dynamic characteristics of the sedan look more attractive in the version with "mechanics": acceleration to 100 km / h - 10.6 seconds, "maximum speed" - 192 km / h. The version with a "variator", in turn, accelerates the sedan to 100 km / h in 11.3 seconds, while reaching a maximum speed of 184 km / h.

But the fuel consumption in the combined cycle for both types of gearboxes is the same - 6.4 liters, but at the same time, within the city limits, the "mechanics" is a little more economical - 8.1 liters versus 8.2 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers.

According to Nissan representatives, in the event of demand from Russian buyers, the Centra sedan can get another, but more powerful naturally aspirated engine with a displacement of 1.8 liters and a return of 132 hp. (currently available in the US and China).

This sedan is built on the Nissan V platform and received a front independent suspension based on MacPherson struts, as well as a rear semi-independent suspension with a torsion bar. By tradition, the engineers of the concern supplied the wheels of the front axle of the sedan with ventilated disc brakes, and used simple disc brakes at the rear. The rack and pinion steering gear of the car is equipped with an electric booster.

Options and prices. For the sedan Nissan Sentra in 2017, 4 basic configuration options are offered: "Welcome", "Comfort", "Elegance" (additional 3 packages of options: "Plus", "Connect", "Plus Connect") and "Tekna".

  • Already "in the base" the car is equipped with a system of exchange rate stability (ESP), two airbags, front and rear power windows, an on-board computer, air conditioning, heated front seats, a multifunction steering wheel and four speakers for audio preparation, 16 "steel wheels with decorative caps and tires 205 / 55R16, mirrors are electrically and heated. Its price in 2017 starts from 976 thousand rubles.
  • The "Comfort" package is additionally equipped with a CD / MP3 audio system (4 speakers, digital input AUX, USB and Bluetooth wireless communication system). The cost of such a configuration is 996 thousand rubles with a 5MKPP or 1 million 41 thousand rubles with a "variator".
  • The Elegance package includes an audio system with 6 speakers and additionally: 16 ″ alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, side airbags, an armrest for passengers in the second row of seats and pockets in the backrests of the front seats. The price of the Nissan Sentra "Elegance" is 1,036,000 or 1,081,000 rubles with "mechanics" or "variator", respectively.
    Additional option packages for the Elegance package:
    • "Plus" (rain and light sensors, auto-dimming salon rear-view mirror, keyless entry system and engine start button, as well as electric folding mirrors) will add 20 thousand rubles to the price of "Elegance".
    • Connect (a NissanConnect navigation system with a 5.8 ″ LCD touchscreen and a rear view camera) will increase the Elegance price by 40,000 rubles.
    • "Plus Connect" - combines the above mentioned packages, and "wholesale is more profitable" - plus 55 thousand rubles to the price of "Elegance" (instead of the "theoretical" 60 thousand rubles).
  • In the maximum configuration "Tekna" Sentra will be able to boast (in addition to all of the above): xenon headlights and LED DRLs, cruise control, leather trim and 17 ″ wheels. The cost of the "top-end configuration" is 1 million 207 thousand rubles (it is offered only "with a variator").
