Honda Accord is a front-wheel drive business-class sedan (segment "E" by European standards), which is designed for the widest target audience: it will suit both "adult uncles" (with a wife and children), and young people (regardless of gender) ... Car embodies: energetic design, high-quality interior and modern technical component ...

The next, tenth in a row, the three-volume generation made its official debut on July 15, 2017 in the USA - after the "reincarnation" the car ceased to be a direct competitor to the Toyota Camry (more focused on the tastes of the inhabitants of the Old World) and, in addition, turned out to be brighter, lighter, more spacious and much more technologically advanced than its predecessor.

Outwardly, the "tenth" Honda Accord looks fresh, attractive and expressive - unlike the previous model, the car no longer resembles a "suitcase" in its appearance, but in its appearance there is lightness and grace.

The solid and not devoid of aggression front of the car bears beautiful LED headlights and a branded "shield" of the radiator grille, and its strong rear flaunts spectacular boomerang lights and a lean bumper with two trapezoidal exhaust pipes.

In profile, the sedan evokes associations with a "four-door coupe" - a long hood, a visually "shifted back" cabin, a smoothly sloping roofline and a short "branch" of the trunk.

And I must say, in general - the car has a solid and harmonious image, which will definitely attract a lot of attention in the city traffic.

In length, the tenth generation Honda Accord is extended by 4879 mm, of which 2830 mm falls on the center distance, its width is 1759 mm, and its height does not go beyond 1450 mm.

The interior of the Japanese sedan fully corresponds to modern fashion trends - its central element is the 8-inch screen of the infotainment complex protruding from the front panel, surrounded by two "physical" handles, under which there are three "twists" of the air conditioner.

In addition, a sports three-spoke steering wheel with embossed tides and a stylish instrument cluster with laconic analog dials and a "window" of the on-board computer between them perfectly fit into the internal picture.

In the cabin of the three-volume, only high-quality materials are used - soft plastics, genuine leather, aluminum and wood-like inserts.

One of the advantages of the tenth generation "Accord" is its spacious "apartments", the volume of which is 2.99 cubic meters. The front seats at the four-door have distinct lateral support bolsters, an optimal cushion in length and wide adjustment intervals. On the second row, there is a comfortable sofa that can accommodate even three adults, but the central passenger will clearly be hindered by a high floor tunnel.

According to the American EPA standard, the luggage compartment of the "tenth" Honda Accord is 473 liters. Already in the basic version, the backrest of the rear sofa is divided into two unequal sections, and the tools and the spare wheel are stored in the underground niche of the “hold”.

For a four-door, a choice of three units is offered:

  • The gasoline part includes in-line "fours" with turbocharging, direct injection system, DOHC timing belt with a 16-valve structure and variable valve timing:
    • The first option is a 1.5-liter engine with 192 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque in its arsenal.
    • The second is a 2.0-liter engine that produces 252 hp. and 370 Nm of available potential.

By default, they dock with a 6-speed "mechanics" and a front-wheel drive transmission, but for the "junior" unit, a variator is provided as an option, and for the "senior" one - a 10-band "automatic" planetary design.

  • The i-MMD hybrid power plant is also available for the car, made according to a sequential scheme, which combines a 2.0-liter gasoline "aspirated", a pair of electric motors and a traction battery located under the boot floor (although its characteristics are still unknown).

At the heart of the 10th generation Honda Accord is a modular "bogie" with a transversely placed engine in the front. The car body consists of 54% of high-strength steels, of which 29% are ultra-high-strength materials.

The sedan has independent suspensions of both axles: the front is of the MacPherson type with variable L-shaped levers, and the rear is a multi-link system. In addition, it can be equipped with adaptive dampers with several operating algorithms.

"Japanese" is equipped with a rack and pinion steering system with an electric booster and variable characteristics, as well as a brake complex with disc devices "in a circle" (ventilated at the front) and modern electronics.

In the United States, the "tenth" Honda Accord will appear on sale in the fall of 2017 (and, in comparison with its predecessor, it practically does not rise in price), and in the future its appearance is possible in the countries of the Old World.
Already in the "base" the car will receive at least eight airbags, a multimedia complex, an air conditioner, ABS, ESP, a rear view camera, adaptive cruise control, an autobraking system, lane tracking and road sign reading technologies, alloy wheels and much other.
"Top" versions can boast: fully LED optics, heated all seats, ventilation and power adjustment of the front seats, a projection display and other functionality.
