The Volvo V90 hybrid station wagon, which received the "T8 Twin Engine" prefix to the name, made its official debut in mid-February 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden, and was shown to the public live at the international Geneva Motor Show in March (along with the standard "brother").

Visually, the "dual-powered" Volvo V90 demonstrates a beautiful design, executed in the corporate style of the brand, but it is very difficult to distinguish it from the traditional model - the car is given only an additional "hatch" for saturation of the batteries from the mains and a nameplate on the tailgate.

In length, "ve-ninety" is extended by 4936 mm, of which 2941 mm are allocated for the gap between the axes, in width - by 1890 mm, in height - by 1475 mm. The clearance under the "belly" of the equipped car is 153 mm.

Inside, the Volvo V90 T8 Twin Engine copies the standard "shed": branding, which focuses on a 9-inch display, premium finishing materials, a solid supply of surrounding space and a spacious "hold" with a volume of 575 to 1526 liters.

Specifications. Under the body of the "top" station wagon is a hybrid power unit that combines a 2.0-liter petrol "four" Drive-E with combined supercharging technology, developing 320 "horses" at 5700 rpm and 400 Nm of thrust at 2200-5400 rpm, and electric motor with a recoil of 88 forces and 240 Nm.
In addition to this, the car is equipped with a 46-horsepower motor-generator, which has a built-in "automatic" of eight ranges and is activated during fast acceleration ... as well as a traction battery LG with a capacity of 9.2 kW / h, capable of recharging from a household power supply.

In total, the power plant generates 407 "mares" of power and 640 Nm of maximum torque, providing five-door acceleration to 100 km / h in 5.2 seconds, a peak of 250 km / h and a combined "appetite" of 2.1 liters per "hundred".

The technical part of the hybrid version of the Volvo V90 is identical to that on the base model: SPA platform, independent architecture "in a circle" (double-lever in front and multi-link with composite spring at the rear), ventilated brake discs on all wheels and electro-hydraulic power steering.

When the Volvo V90 T8 Twin Engine will hit the market and how much it will cost is still unknown. Only one thing is clear - in terms of equipment, the dual-mover station wagon will not clearly differ from its “traditional brother”.
