In October 2010, Chevrolet brought the five-door Cruze hatchback to the Paris International Motor Show, which became the second representative of this family. Production of the car began at the end of 2011, at the same time its official sales started. Despite the fact that literally a year later (with the release of the station wagon) the whole family underwent a slight facelift.

The cruise hatchback in terms of appearance differs from the three-volume model only in the design of the rear part of the body. The "face" of the car looks just as aggressive, which is facilitated by the "squinted gaze" of the head light optics, the radiator grille, divided by a stripe with the brand's emblem into two parts and the embossed shape of the hood.

The five-door has a more collected and dynamic silhouette, which gives it a certain level of sportiness. And the stern of this "Cruise" looks a little more interesting, and the sloping roof creates a beautiful and complete image. The compact lights of the original shape are somewhat reminiscent of drops, and the bumper with embossing adds athleticism to the body.

The length of the Chevrolet Cruze hatchback is 4510 mm, height - 1477 mm, width - 1797 mm. This means that it is shorter and wider than the sedan of the same name at the same height. But the parameters of the wheelbase and ground clearance (clearance) of the models are identical - 2685 mm and 140 mm, respectively.

The interior space went to the five-door "Cruz" from the "three-volume" practically unchanged, only the luggage compartment device differs.

The front panel is attractive and ergonomic, with the main and auxiliary controls based on familiar locations. The instrument cluster is located in "deep wells" and the steering wheel has an original layout.

The driver and front passenger in the "Cruze" hatchback will not feel any serious discomfort due to the good profile of the seats, densely padded cushion, wide adjustment ranges and ample headroom. The back sofa is designed for three people, but it will be especially comfortable for two.

The Chevrolet Cruze hatchback is more practical than its three-volume counterpart. Its useful luggage space is 413 liters, and with the backrest of the second row of seats folded down - 883 liters. A good shape, a wide opening and covered wheel arches make the compartment practical and easy to use.
A full-fledged spare wheel is based under the raised floor, and the rear seat fits almost flush with the floor.

Specifications. The five-door Cruze offers exactly the same engines and transmissions as the sedan. These are four-cylinder aspirated engines with a volume of 1.6 and 1.8 liters, which produce 109 and 141 horsepower (150 and 176 Nm, respectively), as well as a 1.4-liter "turbo four", generating 140 "horses" of power and 200 Nm of torque. There are two gearboxes - 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic.

At the heart of the "Cruise" is the "bogie" Delta II, and the design of the chassis and braking system is similar to those on the three-volume model.

Options and prices. The Chevrolet Cruze hatchback is sold on the Russian market in three trim levels (LS, LT and LTZ) at a price of 783,000 to 1,027,000 rubles (as of early 2015). This means that according to these parameters, the five-door model has full parity with the sedan. And they have the same equipment.
