In September 2006, at the car show in Paris, Citroen showed the first generation seven-seat Grand C4 Picasso compact van.

A few months later, it officially demonstrated the five-seater modification, which had lost the "Grand" prefix in its name.

Serial production of the car at the facilities of the Spanish plant of the PSA Peugeot Citroen association in the city of Vigo continued until 2013, after which the second generation model was put on the conveyor.

The first "release" of the Citroen C4 Picasso is a compact MPV with a five- or seven-seat (Grand) interior configuration.

The length of the "Frenchman" is 4470-4590 mm, depending on the version, and the width, height and size of the wheelbase fit into 1830 mm, 1690 mm and 2730 mm, respectively. The ground clearance of the equipped vehicle is 120 mm, and its weight varies from 1415 to 1564 kg.

On the Russian expanses, the car is available with two gasoline 1.6-liter "fours" with direct injection and a 16-valve timing: in atmospheric form, it produces 120 horsepower and 160 Nm of torque, and in a turbocharged version - 150 "mares" and 240 Nm of peak thrust ...
The "junior" unit is docked with a 5-speed "mechanics", and the "senior" - with a 6-band "robot".

In other countries, compact MPVs can also be found with gasoline units with a capacity of 1.6-2.0 liters, producing 125-156 "horses", as well as diesel units for 1.6-2.0 liters, generating 109-136 forces.

At the heart of the first generation Citroen C4 Picasso is a front-wheel drive platform "PF2" with independent MacPherson-type suspension at the front and a semi-independent torsion beam at the rear axle.
The car uses a rack and pinion steering system supplemented by hydraulic booster and disc brakes on all wheels (ventilated at the front) with ABS.

The advantages of the car are: eye-catching design, original interior with the broadest possibilities of transformation, rich equipment, high reliability, excellent visibility and acceptable dynamic characteristics.
But its disadvantages include: poor geometric cross-country ability, a somewhat slow "robot", stiff suspension, expensive maintenance and sensitivity to side wind gusts.

You can buy the original embodiment of a compact van in the secondary market of Russia in 2016 at a price of 330 thousand rubles.
